Week 2wo

April 26th, 2007

*thinking* what happened this week?

no excursions..

In our double, the first period turned into an unexcpected production meeting.

Costume: hmm…They should have been made by now, we havnt even bought the material. Me and beth were stressing. then there was a suggestion made in the “productiong meeting” that we should just buy them? :O really? that what we had planned to do in the first place. Beths first sketches were of different outfits for each character, different materials and they were to be bought at opp shops or what not. Once everyone said that it would be better if they were all the same material, colour and that, we scrapped that idea…

so..thats what me and beth are going to do. Go shopping! all costumes will be the same colour, just..different. Yes this is a much easier option with the production being only 4 weeks away, but i think it will also look better.

SAC: So we started our sac today..um.. i think i should maybe do fine, maybe…i started on the first question but got really stuck so i started on the second question. i finished it. i wrote a whole page and abit but i dont think it was enough..i dunno. Its only my first theatre sac so i think maybe for what i know im doing alright maybe…who knows, we’ll see. im not too sure whether i will finish it tho.. i still have more of question one and all of three with only around 40 minutes left?

im off, cya ’round

heres to another week come and gone..

week ONE term TWO

April 25th, 2007

term two already? shat…

wow alot has happened this week!

100: It is coming along greatly! most scripts are down. all the acters are doing an awesome job! we hada look at the theatre, i was suprised. the pictures that jordan, lester and tash showed us wen they first went didnt do the place justice. the stage is so big and its just awesome! costume…hmm… well me n beth rang spotlight and the biatch was a complete biatch to bethany. Cotton material varies from something like 1.99-4.99 or something? i dunno…all i know is me n beth gotta get cracking!

is 100 really in 4 weeks? :S

Macbeth: Wow..i have studied the play for english and went to see it for seniour play and i have never understood it..i still dont but the way it was performed was AWESOME. i have to say my favourite thing was the lighting and sounds at the start. it scared me so much i even squeeled! apart from wen i was dozing off and wen old people were farting, the parts i saw were really really good. i loved all the characters too. everyone said they disliked the people who played lady macbeth and ,macbeth..i thought they were great! i was really feeling them…banquo i think it was? scaredf the hell outta me..he was sooo GOOD he’s blood looked so real when he played the ghost! it was also fun just looking at malcom…he was cute.

Topacts or sorry jarros…topCLASS: i dont think i can do it…i am going to really struggle. i dont think i can just get in the mood and zone like then and remember tons of lines let alone perform it infront of people! how can i do that wen i struggle to remember my few lines in fame and am terrified of singing my song with alison? Coops im going to really need your help! everybody was so good…i was sitting there with my jaw dropped.it was unbelievable…

Cake: Omg soooo good…i felt so sick afterwoods…

lets see wat week 2 has in stall for us!

heres to another week come and gone…

5&6

March 17th, 2007

I had to look at everyone elses week 5 blog to remember wat happened this week…Because we are now in week 6 and this week 5 blog is late i am going to do a double one on the past two weeks, 5&6

COSTUME

Beth and i seem to be working really well with one another…we both have the same ideas and have a clear vision of what we want. We decided the costumes would be in a off white sorta champagne colour and in a light cotton material, then we thought stark white would let better on the set but after talking about lighting and the issues with that we changed our mind…the double that just passed was first period rehersals and the next period production meeting…we both had nothing more since our last production meeting, so during the first period we went next door to look at the costumes and we practically chose the cotumes for each character, we found an outline of what we wanted for everyone! we were so happy and proad of ourselves…

  • sophie- had a straight bussiness skirt that was to her knees and a blouse-shirt thingy

  • ketu- we found light cotton pair of fisherman pants

  • alex- had loose baggy sotton pants and a cotton ribbed tight longsleve top

  • nia- we found a minni skirt and a cropped sleveless skirt

We were looking for the guide but had no idea what to do..

will she be the same colour as the others? we figured yes because she is just like them..she was taken there to choose a memery too, she just didnt choose in time so she stayed there and became the guide..so really, she should be in the same clothes as them. What sorta style will she wear? we already had pants for ketu, pants for alex and skirt for nia and skirt for sophie…so we thought of a dress…Should she have something glitzy or that stands out because after all she is the guide and she has more power of them…

We found this dress for her, it was just really light and it was flowy so it would flow when she walked and gave a nice effect.

We showed each cotume in the production meeting and we were so excited to do so…
everyone liked the ideas for alex and ketu but there was an issue with the girls in skirts…because they need to do a heap of physical theatre its gunna be hard for them to squat and sit or wateva in a skirt apparently…so we have to figure something out…
By the end of the term Mr Cooper wants us to have ordered the fabric…funny that cos we dont really know what were even getting yet! i havnt found the time to go look at spotlight or something so i reallly gotta do that…beth said she found something, exactly what we’re looking for but apparently we can get cheaper…i am the same with her about not knowing whats a good price for fabric so… hmm

GENERAL
Week 5 i had my first audit…that was an experience…i was so bloody nervous!
i was pretty unorganised too, and i didnt fill out the self evaluation sheet thingy cos i had no idea wat it was. It was gfood chatting to mr cooper about my progress and what i need to improve on with my vine blog and stage craft and things like that…spewing we have to have 3 more…
all in all rehersals and class are going well…
the terms nearly over…shit

heres to another week come and gone…

4!

March 1st, 2007

The weeks are flying by…we’re at the end of week four already!

nothing much happened this week…everybody found out about my secret crush on burak :P… oh and no more silly whats in the box games…yay

We had our first production meeting, that seemed to go well. Beth and i got to see the colour cards that tash n j rod have for the set…it helped knowing what they had in mind so we could start thinking bout the colour of the costumes. We have to start drawing some sketches…i think were gunna go for coops idea…everyone have the same costume/colour/material but for each character, a different cut…I have to get out and collect some samples of materials…

we are on schedule and are now up to Void #4, its coming along nicely…

so with nothing more to say im gunna boot…

heres to another week come and gone…

My late entry for week 3…

February 26th, 2007

Well…week three…

The only thing i seem to remember for week three was having a breakdown…Evertime i hear ‘whats in the box teigan’ i think im going to cry…

Mr cooper thought it was a good idea to have a warm up game titled whats in the box?…there was an empty box…each person was to use the imagination to say what was in the box…everyone danced around singing ‘whats in the box bethany’ or ‘whats in the box erica’…when it came to me i was like :S wtf? i didnt see the point of the game and i had no idea wat to say…so i cracked it and said ‘no’. they than started dancing around me in a circle while i saw curled up into a ball…i was laughing at first but then just got so frustrated and angry i started to cry…

so yeah…thats was fun fun fun! OH BETHS BIRTHDAY! that was fun fun fun too (no sarcasm tho) the cake was so good…yum!

What else happened?

‘100′ is coming along nicely. No more mucking around… its work work work… occasionally you will hear Erica giggle in the background about something real silly, then everyone will get distracted and it will take 20 minutes to settle everybody down again…but its going good…

so…costume…its so frustrating… with colours n crap it all comes down to the set…wateva colour that is we’ll work with that…so if its grey or black thats good…Each costume will symbolise the character…Sophie bussiness suit…ketu tribal bagging pant thingies (topless :) ) and blah blah blah…we still have a very faint idea of alex and nia but today we thought…hmm alex? maybe biker? biker jacket? Nia? partner of alex..maybe give her biker boots or something? theres nothing else to do for her ‘Nia, an attractive women in her thirties’…maybe a minnie skirt or some top of some sort??? i  dunno

Do we buy white light, cotton like material and create the costumes ourselves or do we go hunting at oppshops or something?

And then theres the guide? I had the idea of the guide being in bright colours, something bold, something to stand out…we thought of red. But what will she be in? A suite? Is that too masculine? I did think of her having maybe a top hat or cane or something? I thought that would be real cool but is that pimp? Grr i dont know…

Make up? all i have is washed out faces with maybe big bold eyes? A coloured eyeshadow for each person? i dunno…

hmm…well lets see what week four has in stall for us…

wEEK 2

February 19th, 2007

The year is going fast…

This week in theatre studies started off with a bang in the IT room reasearching ‘100′ i found it quite difficult to find information. Jay-Rod sent me some photographs of costumes and make up from a previous production of ‘100′. Their costumes consited of plain cotton like clothes, baggy and dull…i really liked this idea. The make up was very natural, nothing extreme and it made there faces look washed out which i thought looked really awesome, i thought of that idea myself…

I feel bad for bethany, busting her chops designing costume…im just sorta clueless, ive never done anything like this before and am worried about looking like a moron with my ideas…

Id really like the guide to be in a suite in a shade of either black or white and the characters in contrast with her…I also liked the idea of each person with a prop/marking/item that symbolises them and theior character (eg. Sophie with bussiness glasses or a tie, Ketu with a tribal tattoo or something…)

I also thought for the guide maybe with her make up…give her some bags or wrinkles- this can also symbolise that she is tired…tired of being trapped in the viod after not being able to pick a memory in time…shes sick aznd tired of being there…waiting…helping people to be free…

I dont know…

i think i am in love with Burak…i have so much fun sitting there, wathcing him act Ketu…he draws me in, he’s so…hmm thats all i can say :)

The blocking seems like it is going to take forever…things are travelling really slowly…but what can you do? It will all come together in the end and be worth all the time in the world.

Heres to another week come and gone…

Week one

February 11th, 2007

Wow this blogy thingy is very tricky…neways

Theatre so far has been fun fun and more than fun! Its the only one of all my classes i actually want to go to. I love how relaxing it is, just lying on the floor having discussions and learning all the same time. I am still trying to figure out how the class works. I tend to just sit there watching everybody else thinking ‘omg did s/he just say that?’ Sometimes i have no idea wat everyone is talking about so i just shush up and listen.

Out of the first week here is what ive figured out…We are doing a play ‘100′ we have read it in class and its so good, better than i thought it would be. Its hard to believe no-one had an interest in doing it. The roles chosen for each person suits them really well i rekon.. I am doing make-up and costume.. i am excited. My dad thinks the only thing im good at is beautifying my self (PFFT) so im perfect for the job :) While Lisa (the guide) was reading her parts i couldnt help but piss myself laughing! she is hilarious. Also Josh, burak, gemma and erica did an awesome job! We have to do some work on budget and all that boring but important stuff, but so far it seems like its going to be a fully sick play! :)

Cant wait for the new week!

Love ya’ll

its starting
